Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing Center is a non-profit organization that has been providing speech and hearing services to the residents of Loudoun County since 1964.  The mission is to help people of all ages reach their fullest communication potential. The Center’s fundraising efforts through events, grants and donations have allowed patients who would not be able to afford what they medically need to receive appropriate intervention.  In 2006-2007, 9995 services were provided including community outreach to senior centers in Leesburg, Purcellville and Cascades, as well as regional health fairs and nursing homes.

The mother of a young boy with Down’s Syndrome and a history of hearing problems wrote a note to staff saying, thank you so much for making it possible for our son to get his hearing aid.  His life has changed and he is smiling and interacting with family and friends.  His ability to hear and speak has made a difference in his life and ours. Your generous help and kindness will not be forgotten.”

$10 Provides a Speech-Hearing Screening  for a child who is demonstrating communications problems and can provide tubing, wax guards or batteries for those with hearing aids.

$25 Replaces Hearing Aid Parts or can be used for an Electroacoustic Analysis to eliminate hearing aid distortions.

$50 Provides Audiology Outreach to Seniors in the community, senior centers, and nursing homes; reprograms a hearing aid; or provides a speech therapy session for a patient.

Any Amount: All agencies have overhead costs including rent, utilities, audit expenses, fundraising costs, etc.  These are frequently the most difficult funds to raise.  Your gift in any amount for general operating support will help keep our organization strong and allow us to serve even more Loudoun County residents.
