Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Loudoun County dedicated to saving abandoned dogs & cats. We have provided rescue, medical care, rehabilitation, compassion and adoption services since 1973. Our shelter typically houses more than 100 dogs of all ages, breeds (including mutts!), shapes and sizes. FOHA’s cattery shelters up to 30 cats and kittens. Approximately 500 dogs and cats are adopted to permanent, loving homes each year. Help us continue!

Imagine living in an abandoned, rotten trailer in the woods- nobody to love you, or feed you, or help you. Imagine being a puppy thrown into a dumpster. Or, your family deserting you at a truck stop. Or, somebody tying you to a Stop sign at a busy intersection on a day that is 103 degrees. Try to imagine your family deciding they do not want to deal with you being old and sick, so they take you to the pound...FOHA saves animals in these situations (and worse) everyday!

$10 will buy toys or treats for a homeless dog/cat: Maybe their first - Many of the abandoned and abused animals that come to FOHA have never had the pleasure of toys & treats. Help them learn it is ok to have fun and not to be afraid anymore.

$25 will help pay for healthy food for homeless animals: Some of the animals in our care have had to fend for themselves, sometimes only eating garbage or starving. Nutritious food makes their coats thick and shiny and strengthens their teeth and eyes. Their bodies fill out so they are no longer skin and bones, and they learn there is always a meal for them.

$50 will help pay for a homeless animal to go to the vet: Help us pay for vaccines, heartworm tests, and spay/neutering. Good medical care is expensive and is an important step towards preparing animals for adoption. Sadly, some of our animals need medical care because of abuse. Our volunteers can fix animals' broken hearts and spirits, but we need a vet to fix their broken bodies.

Any Amount: All agencies have overhead costs including rent, utilities, audit expenses, fundraising costs, etc. These are frequently the most difficult funds to raise. Your gift in any amount for general operating support will help keep our organization strong and allow us to serve even more Loudoun County residents.
