Friends of Loudoun Mental Health has served people with mental health issues for over 30 years. Each recipient is actively involved in a mental health recovery program. We believe in recovery aided by c ommunity support and advocacy. We advocate for improvements in the mental health field, educate our community by enlisting leaders and speakers to interact and talk to our community and focus on fundraising to support our primary programs,  A Place To Call Home and A Helping Hand

"Some people with a mental health challenge do not have homes or people to help them out of the darkness of their minds.  Hope alone does not provide basic human needs.  People filled with hope matched with action create an integrity that reaches beyond the limitations of a mentally challenged person and provides them with a slice of dignity while they struggle with the day to day task of everyday living."

$10 Gives the gift of happiness, joy, and laughter! - Sometimes getting away from home, work, and stress dramatically   lifts the human spirit.  Taking in a movie, a ball game in the summer, a good meal with friends truly alters our mind set and eases the burden of our many responsibilities.  Relieve a mentally challenged person’s stress this season by giving a gift of pleasure, laughter and joy.  Your contribution supports our “A Helping Hand” Program.

$25 Gives Electric, Water, and Food – this season!  Not glamorous but subtly radiant! - Gas and electric can warm up a can of soup and comfort a weary mind. Water can provide a warm shower to wash away the day’s stress.  Try living without lights, water, heat and food for a day.  Provide these items to a needy person and give the gift of dignity – a ray of light in a darkened mind.  Your support goes towards our “A Helping Hand” Program.

$50 Provides Safety, Comfort, and Dignity – three elements of a having a Place to Call Home - Some people with mental health challenges do not a door to open or a window to close and block out the cold of winter.  Mental health problems directly impact a person’s ability to earn enough money to become self-sufficient.  Your donation to help pay their rent eases their burden and lifts the weight of worry. Your contributions support our “A Place to Call Home” Program.

Any Amount: All agencies have overhead costs including rent, utilities, audit expenses, fundraising costs, etc. These are frequently the most difficult funds to raise. Your gift in any amount for general operating support will help keep our organization strong and allow us to serve even more Loudoun County residents.
