LARC’s mission is to advocate for children and adults with disabilities by promoting individual support and equitable participation with their non-disabled peers in all aspects of community life, including education, residence, vocation, and health care. LARC provides case management and representative payee services, individual and family support programs, direct advocacy assistance, training and workshops on disability related issues, information, referrals, and respite assistance. In addition LARCoperates The Aurora School for children with autism.
A family of four, all of whom have disabilities, contacted LARC. They were about to become homeless in less than 30 days. LARC assisted them in finding affordable housing, pulling in other community supports, enrolling the children in school, and in the development of the children’s special education plans. “You were very helpful in providing me with information recently. I just want you to know how grateful I am to you for your support! Thank you again, for pointing me in the right direction.” -A mother who recently received help from LARC |
