La Voz of Loudoun serves as a conduit between Hispanic and Immigrant populations and government, nonprofit, and other groups in order to promote self-sufficiency through outreach, education, and programs that strengthen family networks. The following seven La Voz programs assist the Spanish-speaking and Immigrant populations in the integration process: La Voz of Loudoun – A Community Newsletter, Leadership Development, Community Forums and Dialogues, Consultations and Trainings, English as a Second Language (ESL), Emergency Preparedness in Spanish, and an annual Family Festival/Men’s Soccer Tournament.

Since 2005, La Voz of Loudoun has collaborated with other county agencies by giving adults the opportunity learn English through our English and Family Integration Program.  One of our students brought her nine year old daughter to translate for her the day of registration and her daughter explained to our volunteers that her “mother’s main goal was to learn how to read, write and speak English so she could be self sufficient and she could get a job in an office”.  Our volunteer was touched by the sincerity of the little girl’s translation …”

$10 Provides English as a Second Language (ESL) class materials: A gift of $10 allows La Voz to assist 2 low-income, adult ESL students participating in our English and Family Integration Program with books and cassettes, putting them on the road to self-sufficiency.

$25 Secures Meals and Childcare for the English and Family Integration Program: A gift of $25 allows La Voz of Loudoun to provide a meal and childcare for 15 low-income, immigrant families for one session of the program, granting parents the opportunity to gain English skills and strengthen family networks at the same time.

$50 Educational Presentation on Life Skills or Community Issues: A gift of $50 will enable La Voz to sponsor 1 educational presentation to a group of 15-20 people on a topic that promotes integration into society, such as immigration assistance, credit and banking, homeownership, housing occupancy limits, or emergency preparedness.

Any Amount: All agencies have overhead costs including rent, utilities, audit expenses, fundraising costs, etc. These are frequently the most difficult funds to raise. Your gift in any amount for general operating support will help keep our organization strong and allow us to serve even more Loudoun County residents.
