Children in Worship
Children are always welcome in worship at St. Gabriel's. If your children make "a joyful noise to the Lord" in the midst of the service, please don't worry. A little extra noise is worth it to have our children be part of our time praising God.
Most youngsters participate in KidZone, our combined children's chapel/ Sunday School program, on Sundays. They go to the classrooms before the start of the service, and rejoin their parents at the time of The Peace so they can participate in the service of Holy Communion.
Children participate in worship in different ways. Some serve as acolytes, some as readers, and some occasionally sing. Others simply stay with their parents or grandparents, and that's just fine!
Serving as an Acolyte (robing and helping out at the altar) requires training. Please speak to the Senior Warden if your child would like to participate in this ministry - the Warden will let you know when the next training will be scheduled.
If your child is a good reader and would like to serve as a reader occasionally, let the Vicar know.
