A New Vicar has been Called!

Come meet our new Pastor, the Rev. CC Schroeder, at our Sunday, September 5th Service.  We will have a special “Blessing of Backpacks, Briefcases & Blackberries” during our 10:00AM service. Students of all ages, bring your backpacks, and grown-ups, bring your briefcases or any other symbol of your work. We’ll place them around the altar, and ask for God’s blessing on our vocations of study and work as we begin a new program year. Invite your friends and neighbors.

Bishop Shannon Johnston, with the unanimous concurrence of the Vestry of St. Gabriel’s, has joyfully called the Rev. Cecelia (CC) Schroeder to be the next Vicar of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church. Pastor CC currently serves as Assistant Rector at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Salisbury, NC. She is married to husband John and has two children, Owen (age 6) and Isaac (age 2). Her new ministry at St. Gabriel’s will begin on September 1, 2010 and she will lead us in worship at our annual Blessing of the Backpacks and Briefcases on September 5, 2010.    The Reverend Cecelia "CC" Schroeder and her family in picture at right.

Saint Gabriel's currently holds services in the Belmont Ridge Middle School (BRMS) at 10:00AM each Sunday morning. BRMS is located at 19045 Upper Belmont Place, Lansdowne, Virginia 20176. A directions map service is provided in the Visitor's Center, under Driving Directions.
