All Lit Up

We learned this week that the Parish Hall fire door — which must be in good working order before occupancy can be granted — has bigger problems than we initially thought. We're awaiting a detailed estimate before we know next steps.

On a brighter note, Rob got one step closer to identifying the issue that's kept one of the AC units from functioning.

Our head of Altar Guild, Cindy Jones, spent a couple of days at Our Redeemer starting to clean and organize the sacristies — the kind of quiet, careful work that makes a space feel ready for worship again. AND - she recruited a new Altar Guild member!

We also hit a few visible milestones: a smart lock with access control is now installed at the main entrance, the office phones are up and running (don't worry — same number, technology just caught up with us!), and we flipped on the parking lot lights this week for the first time, getting our first look at what the campus looks like at night.

Finally, we met with some former Our Redeemer parishioners who have loved ones interred in the Columbarium, to get a better sense of how we'll care for this sacred space as work continues nearby. We'll likely need to excavate a bit near the undercroft wall by the Columbarium to identify the source of a water leak — and we're committed to doing that thoughtfully and respectfully.
