A New Chapter For This Congregation
We're a 24-year-young congregation, about to make Aldie our home. We're moving to the property at Church of Our Redeemer and reinvigorating this beloved space into a vibrant spiritual community center.
Right now, we're hard at work on the renovations and upgrades needed to re-open the doors. It's a significant undertaking—from infrastructure to accessibility to creating a warm, welcoming environment. We wanted you to know what's happening, so we put together this page. If you're curious, you're in the right place.
Who We Are
We are St. Gabriel's~San Gabriel, a bilingual Episcopal mission congregation that was planted in 2002 by St. James' in Leesburg. Our office has been at St. James' since our inception, and we have always worshipped in borrowed spaces.
We're named after the Archangel Gabriel - a being that transcends time and religion, bringing God's message to all. In the Hebrew Scriptures, he appeared to the prophet Daniel with prophecies of the Messiah. In the New Testament, he declared the miraculous births of John the Baptist and Jesus to their mothers. In Islam, he delivered the text of the Quran from God to the Prophet Muhammad. We live into the spirit of our namesake by bringing God's children together and announcing God's love to all.
Through prayer and action we live into our holy mission to "Encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in the world" by offering inspiring worship, faith-building discipleship, warm fellowship, hearfelt pastoral care, active evangelism, outreach, and service to all.
We are a hospitable and authentically inclusive faith community open to people at any stage in their faith journey with Christ. You are welcome just as God made you!

The Church of Our Redeemer in Aldie has a long, rich history. We're not erasing that—we're building on it. This space has been a place of prayer and community for generations, and we're honored to steward that legacy while bringing fresh perspectives and building new traditions.
